SASHA – Rochester NY area
Female terrier mix, 3 years old (born 1/2020) and approx. 45 lb..
Sasha is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. She is housebroken and crate trained (she will come with her crate and her blankets). She does not sleep in her crate at night – she is usually in bed with her human 13 yr. old sister or living her best life with the couch to herself. Her crate is very much her “safe space” and she will go in there voluntarily, but also on command (“go to bed”) if you need to crate her to leave the house. She knows how to ring a bell to go outside if she needs to – she will come with a bell for this. She’s so smart! Her current yard is fenced in and when it’s warm out, Sasha would stay outside all day if we let her. She LOVES being outside but respects the fence and does not try to bolt when we open the gate.
Likes:
- Long walks on the beach/in the park/around the block/anywhere. She’s a very strong and excited walker but does better on a harness than a regular leash/collar.
- Chewing on bones (real bones – she destroys any toys that aren’t antler or beef bones).
- Playing with soccer balls in the yard
- Laying in sunbeams
- Snuggling with her people
- Playing with kids
- Playing with other dogs (with a gentle introduction)
- Sitting nicely and waiting to be released for dinner (“go eat”)
Dislikes:
- Nail trims
- Wearing clothes – she’s got very short hair and we put sweaters on her to keep her a bit warmer but she is not a fan.
- Big crowds/lots of noise – she gets anxious and reactive.
Sasha is a very sweet girl and loves her humans but especially children. She is looking for a new home, and as shown above, she would love a fenced in yard. To meet or adopt, Sasha, please submit the application for adoption, which can be found at www.k9orphans.org/adopt. Thank you! 💕
