Lovely lady Ella is an 8 month old Cattle Dog mix, and is pretty typical for the breed. She is super smart, full of energy, and loves attention. When she’s not busy playing and exploring, she loves to snuggle up on the couch with her humans. She definitely needs a family who has time to spend with her, as she will require a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to be happy. She would make an excellent running or hiking partner, and would likely do well in agility training or flyball.
Ella will bark when she meets new people, but once the excitement wears off she is friendly with everyone. She hasn’t been around children, but she is very sweet and friendly so we think she would be fine with humans of all ages. A home with older kids may be best due to her energy level and still needing some training, but she does not have an aggressive bone in her body. She gets along well with other dogs, and would love a home with dog-friend to play with. Ella has not been cat-tested.
She is crate trained and sleeps all night without complaining, but potty training can use some work. She mostly goes outside, but when she is super excited or first thing in the morning she doesn’t always make it. She is still a puppy, so training is a given. Ella would excel in an obedience class! She will need someone willing to provide a good training structure and keep her bus.!
Ella’s perfect home would be with an active family who is committed to her training and has plenty of time to spend with her. A fenced yard and a dog-friend would be stellar, but if her human is super active and attentive she would be fine as the only dog.
